ADMISSION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR POST BASIC B.Sc. NURSING PROGRAMME – JANUARY, 2024.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University will be admitting students for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (BSCN-PB) Programme, batch commencing from January 2024 through Entrance Test to be held all over the country on 07th January, 2024.

Post Basic B.Sc Nursisng is a degree programme for in-service diploma holder Nurses. The Programme is approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).

Admission is based on the merit in the Entrance Test (OPENNET-XII) to be conducted on 24th December 2023 followed by region-wise counseling. Seats are fixed for programme study centre(s) located in INC approved Colleges of Nursing across the country. Please refer Student Handbook and Prospectus 2024 for all details. The forms will be available on and will be accepted only through the online portal of the University at www.ignou.ac.in

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION : English

DURATION : Minimum – 3 years Maximum – 6 years

RESERVATION : As per Government of India policy

ELIGIBILITY

In-service Nurses, that is Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RNRM) having 10+2 with three years, Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with minimum of Two Years of experience (after registration as RNRM) in the profession. (For male nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM programme should have a certificate in any one of the nursing courses of 6-9 months duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery).

OR

In-service Nurses (RNRM) having 10th class (Matriculation) or its equivalent with three years, Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with minimum of Five Years of experience (after registration as RNRM) in the profession. (For male nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM programme should have a certificate in any of the nursing courses of 6-9 month duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery)

Reservation policy as per Government of India Policy.

AGE: There is no age bar for admission into the Programme of the University.

REGISTRATION : Submission of online application form for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Programmes can be undertaken online at www.ignou.ac.in from 12th December, 2023. Candidates can choose their exam city through online registration system on first come first serve basis.

EXAMINATION FEE

Rs.1000/- should be remitted through payment gateway, using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by Banks in India or through online Banking.
